Approve or deactivate a user

How to clear your approval queue and how to deactivate a user account in the CHOYS Admin Portal.

Both jobs start in the same place: the user list in the CHOYS Admin Portal.

Approving new sign-ups

This only applies if your organisation requires approval for new accounts. If it does, someone who signs up sees a "Waiting for approval!" screen and cannot use CHOYS until an administrator approves the request.

Check the queue

Log in to the CHOYS Admin Portal and go to the Organisation section, then User. This is where your registered users are listed, and where requests waiting on you appear.

Check the person is yours

Look at the email address before you approve. It should be a work address at your organisation. If you do not recognise the person, check with their manager first — approving is quick, undoing it is a conversation.

Approve

Approve the request and the person gets access. They will land on the welcome flow, collect their first CHOYS Coins and XP, and be asked three quick questions to personalise their plan.

Deactivating an account

Deactivate an account when someone leaves the organisation, or when they have asked you to switch off their access.

Log in to the Admin Portal

Sign in to the CHOYS Admin Portal with your credentials.

Go to Organisation → User

Open the Organisation section and select User to see the list of registered users.

Find the account

Browse the list or search for the specific user whose account you need to deactivate.

Open the Action menu

On the right-hand side of that user's row you will find the Action dropdown.

Choose deactivate

Select the deactivation option from the dropdown. Once deactivated, the user will no longer have access to their CHOYS account.
